Reel for families
Privacy policy
Last updated September 24, 2026.
Reel for families is a private timeline of medical records, notes, files, labs, and medications for whoever you add. The public landing at / shows Maxwell’s timeline as a labeled example. Paying $5 once on the website (or buying the iOS app) gives you your own empty timeline at /app — not those records. This policy is for the family app (/ and /app), including the iOS wrapper (bundle id com.reel.family). It does not cover Maxwell’s separate doctor page at /maxwell.
What we collect
- Email and a password hash when you create an account.
- Notes, files, labs, medications, and an optional header photo you add, stored on this device for that account.
- If you pay on the web, Stripe processes the one-time $5 charge. We do not store full card numbers.
- The iOS app (bundle id
com.reel.family) is a one-time $5.99 paid download. Apple processes that purchase. There are no in-app purchases inside the app. We never see your Apple ID password. - If you use Connect records, you sign in at the hospital (OAuth / SMART on FHIR). Reel never collects or stores a hospital or MyChart password. We only keep the labs and medications the hospital returns onto your account’s timeline.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not mix one family’s timeline with another account or with Maxwell’s records.
- We do not invent lab numbers or medications.
Your choices
Export a JSON backup from the family app. Sign out to leave this session. To delete the account, open Delete account next to Sign out (also while setting up a timeline, and on the website pay screen). Enter your password and confirm. That permanently removes the sign-in. It also erases notes, files, labs, medications, and the header photo stored on this device for that account. You do not email or call anyone to finish. Deletion does not refund the website payment or the App Store download. Maxwell’s example timeline is not an account and is not deleted.
The website is a one-time $5 payment (not recurring). Stripe handles website refunds. The iOS app is a separate $5.99 paid download; Apple handles refunds for that purchase.
